Nov 3, Sat, Hanoi

We started with a trip to the Vietnam Ethnology Museum, which was fascinating.  There are 56 different ethnic groups of Vietnamese throughout the country, and the map below shows how the different groups are dispersed.  Villages and groups might have different languages, cultures, customs, clothing, arts, history, family associations, but there are also many similarities.  Outside the two-story museum, the grounds contain old houses and tombs that have been relocated to the museum area.  We stopped by the Military Museum again, but decided that a nap to fully recover from the jet lag would be more fun.  (And I’m not big on war weapons.)
