Today the tour visited four places in Hagi – walking tour of the old samurai quarter, lunch at a local restaurant, Toko-ji temple, and visit to a local potter.  Tom had a bad cold and we had visited all but the temple on our trip in 2002, so we stayed onboard for the day.

The lecture tonight by Professor Thomas Fingar on “The Koreas” was excellent as usual.  The ship started the crossing to South Korea, which was not quite as smooth as the inland sea, but quite bearable.

We didn’t have photos from the day since we didn’t go out, but we’ve posted some photos from 2002 so that you can get an idea of the area:
