Today was mainly a travel day with the bus leaving the ship at 8 am heading for a 4+ hour drive to Siem Reap. Along the way, we stopped at a rubber plantation to see how they pull the sap out of a rubber tree. We also passed a small town where all the businesses seemed to be stone carvers, but the stone was imported from another part of the country. There were several homes that were drying rice on the front yards (see photo below). There were also several roadside stands selling fruit and vegetables. Don’t ask why the Christmas tree and reindeer at one resort! We checked into the beautiful Park Hyatt Siem Reap hotel with the rest of the day on our own. A few people went to see some temples, while most went to the Angkor National Museum. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t let us take photos in the museum. Home for a quiet meal at the hotel.
